Limited fuel subsidies = Go Green?

According to President Regulation No 55 in year 2005 and Perpres No 9 in year 2006 about limited fuel subsidies regulation, there are pro and controversial opinion. The disagree opinion always says the regulation will bring the drawback, especially for the poor people, because the price of all things will be increase. Even though, the regulation is only for the private car, not for motorcycle and public transportation, the rule can be increase the cost of transportation to deliver the raw vegetable, rice, sugar, and the other important things continously. On the other hands, people who agree with this rule think it will be save the earth, since used private car will be reduced. People will choose to travel by public transportation, bike or bicycle in the town. So, what do you prefer? By private car? or by public transportation? And do you agree with this regulation, although we do not know what the such benefits for us.. It is depend on our government evidence.
